Adjectives can be divided into comparative and superlative adjectives.

Comparative adjectives are adjectives that is used to compare two nouns, such as:

A big ball or a small ball

or

a tall tree or a short tree

To use a comparative adjective in a sentence, at the end of the adjective of the first noun must be added a "+er" and then followed by the word "then". example

1. The right ball is bigger than the left ball.

2. The right tree is taller than the left tree.

The example sentence above is how you compare two nouns with comparative adjective. The comparison can either be the objects height, size, colour and even how delicious they are.

Activity:
Write a sentence by using comparative adjectives to compare the two objects in the pictures below:

A superlative adjective is used to compare two or more object, people and places

Superlatives are normally formed by adding "est" to the adjective and placing ''the'' before the adjective.
